75 years ago my country was under German occupation. Millions of people fought on the fronts of World War II.
My city - Warsaw did not give up. The Warsaw Uprising showed that a heroic spark still glows in a humiliated nation.
Today, after so many years, the same heroes need our help. Often, just remember them.
The great social campaign "Hero - send a card to a veteran of the Warsaw Uprising" gives hope and relief to the dozens of surviving soldiers, paramedics, communications officers and ordinary people who rushed to fight for freedom.
It is also an opportunity to support those who still remember our ancestors, teach us what is most important: our identity.
I made these films out of passion, respect and deep conviction that I am doing something wonderful.
